Ganesha Chaturthi !!!!

Tommorrow is Lord Ganesha festival called Ganesha Chaturthi.....Ganeshji is my favorite god....back home in Bangalore, we celebrate Ganesha festival very grandly.....mom makes lot of sweets tooooooooo.......we worship Ganesha idol made in clay on this day by decoraing the god with lot of flowers and offering him a lot of sweets that he likes (modak and other sweets). On this day, we pray to him for good luck, prosperity for the family and also to clear all the hurdles in life. My place (Chandapura) wears the festive look till the end of the festival and looks very colorful on this auspicious occasion with roads decorated in neon lights. Orchestra will be arranged by the people near the temple, we enjoy the bollywood and tollywood (????) songs sung by these orchestra ppl. After the festival, we immerse the Ganesha idol in pond or nearby lake since the Ganesha festival can’t be considered complete without immersion.......i miss this festival a lot as i am in Bangkok right now....hope to celebrate this festival very grandly next year in India...
